BROOKS WOODFIN - OWNER & HEAD COACH
In High School, Brooks' coach inspired him with creative variations of weightlifting and conditioning techniques with unique implements. Inspiration from another well-known local gym and the close proximity to home made training his new passion. Brooks could be found reading training and health magazines and reading family sports medicine journals in his down-time. Brooks began training and weightlifting at 12 years old. Brooks is a Certified Underground Strength Coach, Certified Personal Trainer, CF-L1, & Military Athlete Advance Programming. He is currently studying for his CS-CS.
Brooks understands the "Jackson Athlete." The skier, biker, paddler, the climber, and the runner.
Many of us try to take part in several activities per season since we live in this beautiful place, it can be frustrating to progress in all of them, and is hard on the body. We can help you become more durable & active in the Jackson community.
Focusing on corrective musculoskeletal exercises, AIS (Active Isolated Stretching), balance training, and HIIT circuits all are implemented in the programming at Gym 22. Proper biomechanics, posture and mobility are pressed everyday in our sessions.
Living in Wyoming, we love living a very free life and are passionate about the outdoors. The longer we can practice SAFE training techniques that do not push our own physical limitations outside of our skeletal and natural limitations, the longer we may be able to continue enjoying life in Wyoming.
Pete was born and raised in Jackson and grew up enjoying just about every activity that this amazing community and area have to offer. With a very early interest in hockey, snowboarding, mountain biking, and skateboarding, Pete strove to excel at these leading to a deep-seeded passion for the workings, limitations, and capabilities of the human body.
Deciding in 2011 to pursue a career in health and wellness, Pete began managing a local fitness facility which cultivated his decision to become a personal trainer and strength and conditioning coach. Since becoming an American Council on Exercise CPT in early 2014 Pete has joined the Gym 22 team and has dedicated himself to apply his knowledge to furthering his athletes' awareness and capabilities of their own bodies.
"My ultimate goal and driving force in regards to training athletes is to ensure that when they go out into the mountains, out on the river, out on the ice, they are absolutely as prepared, strong, durable, and as aware of themselves as they possibly can be. I want my athletes to always be able to put their best foot forward and put forth a superior effort, at less than a moment's notice because in real life situations the ability to do so just might save your life."
